I've been paddled just like that many times and with that exact clear paddle. Its nothing to play with. The corner as well has been a common place after the paddlings.

How painful is it, really?
Can the top control it so it hurts a lot, but doesn’t leave marks?
How hard do you think she was hitting?
Like 70% strength? 90%?
