I had six strokes as hard as this, but with a thicker cane, on my bare bottom at the hands of my Headmaster, a real sadist, almost 50 years ago, and can recall the shock and agony to this day. I had to visit the School Nurse for treatment afterwards, and my bottom was marked and bruised for weeks after.
